Edward House

Tenor Saxophone
Born in Chicago, lllinois and grew up on the South Side, Edward House mostly listened to Motown. At about 22 years old he was introduced to John Coltrane and his "A Love Suprerne".
After hearing Coltrane he was inspired to play the saxophone. As a child he wanted to play the piano but received negative information about having to be gifted to learn an instrument. He began saxophone lessons and took private lessons with John Houser and received much encouragement.
He later met Ari Brown and with his encouragement and collaboration he began to seriously study the art of Jazz and Blues. Edward House holds a Bachelors Degree in Music
Education from Roosevelt University's College of Music where he studied classical saxophone with Robert Black.
Edward House has worked with Charles Erland, Ari Brown, Chris Foreman, George Lewis, Bobby Broom, Della Reese, and Arthur Prysoc and has played with various artists
internationally. He is currently playing with the Great Black Music Ensemble of the AACM and others.
